The Brandon Police Service (BPS) has requested the public’s help in locating wanted fugitive Kristian Bruce.
Bruce, 23, was charged with possessing a firearm and carelessly using it on June 20, following which he was granted bail by a provincial court judge in August. However, he failed to comply with the conditions set in the bail order by not showing up for subsequent court appearances.
It is alleged that Bruce discharged a firearm at the Little Chalet Motel on the 1700 block of Middleton Avenue, puncturing holes through the window of chalet No. 18, where his ex-girlfriend was staying at the time. Although nobody was injured, Bruce and another man allegedly disposed of their shotguns in nearby bushes before fleeing the scene. Their actions also displayed scant regard for the public’s safety.

When bail was granted, the judge insisted that Bruce’s sureties be given by his father and grandmother. At the time, his defence lawyer argued that his client was born and raised in Brandon and has a history of holding down jobs in construction. Bruce’s lack of a criminal record was also cited to further strengthen his case for being granted bail.
However, since he is currently in violation of the terms of his bail conditions and because he cannot be located by law enforcement, a warrant for Bruce’s arrest has been issued.
His whereabouts are unknown, but he remains wanted by BPS, which has urged anyone with information regarding Bruce to contact law enforcement authorities.
Furthermore, Brandon Crime Stoppers has also encouraged the public to contact them via 204-727-8477 if they have any details that might lead to Bruce’s arrest. The option to remain anonymous is also available for those who do not want their identity revealed. The group is offering up to $2,000 for information that leads to Bruce’s arrest.
