A two-vehicle collision at the intersection of the Trans-Canada Highway and Settlers Road on New Year’s Eve resulted in the death of a Winnipeg man, 32, in the Rural Municipality of Springfield, Oakbank RCMP said.
The Mounties responded to a call reporting the collision on Tuesday at around 6:35 p.m. and were able to confirm that the victim was driving northbound on Settlers Road and collided with a westbound SUV upon entering the westbound lane of the Trans-Canada. The man was pronounced dead on scene.
The SUV was being driven by a woman, 18, from the Rural Municipality of La Broquerie, who suffered minor physical injuries.
Oakbank RCMP, along with a forensic collision reconstructionist, are continuing to investigate.
