BPS ARREST 2 ON OUTSTANDING WARRANTS
Brandon Police Service (BPS) arrested a man, 30, during a regular persons check. The man was stopped while walking west on Rosser Avenue and found to have an endorsed warrant of arrest for previously failing to attend court. He was taken into custody and released later with a Jan. 30 court date.
Officers executed an endorsed warrant of arrest for a boy, 14, at his residence on Percy Street. He was released later and will appear in court on Feb. 4.
Kyle Blacksmith
MAN ARRESTED FOR BREAK-IN, DAMAGING PROPERTY
An inebriated man, 21, broke into The Town Centre at 800 Rosser Ave., early on Friday morning. The break-in set off the building’s security and fire alarms. When officers arrived at the scene, they were met by building security and discovered that a window near the entrance of the mall had been broken. The accused was located following a search, and was found to have allegedly ripped off three sprinkler heads, which were found in his possession. He was arrested and held in detention. The accused will be released with an undertaking once sober and is slated to appear in court in March.
BPS SEEK PUBLIC’S HELP TO LOCATE ALLEGED DRUG TRAFFICKER
Brandon police are seeking the public’s help to locate Kyle Blacksmith — arrested in October on charges of trafficking methamphetamine and possession of money obtained from selling illegal drugs. The accused has been missing after his release on conditions to appear in a Brandon court at a later date. BPS has urged the public to contact Brandon Crime Stoppers at 204-727-8477 if they have any information about Blacksmith or have seen him. Informants will be paid up to $2,000 for credible information.
