VICTIMS SPRAYED WITH FIRE EXTINGUISHER
Brandon police say they arrested a 21-year-old male in the 700 block of Rosser Ave. at 9:10 a.m. and charged him with assault with a weapon, administering a noxious substance, mischief under $5,000, break, enter and theft under $5,000 and failure to comply with an undertaking.
At 4:58 a.m., police had responded to a report in the 700 block of Princess Avenue where a man had entered a building, taken a fire extinguisher, and sprayed multiple people before fleeing. Then, shortly after 5:10 a.m., an alarm was triggered at a business in the 700 block of Rosser Avenue, where officers discovered a break-in.
The suspect remains in custody pending a court appearance.
VEHICLE FOUND
Brandon police recovered a red Honda Accord in the 1400 block of 22nd Street, which was previously reported stolen. The car was seized by police and will be examined for evidence related to the theft.
INTOXICATED MAN ARRESTED
Early at 4:12 a.m., officers were called to a disturbance in the 500 block of 7th Street. A 46-year-old man was arrested due to severe intoxication and lodged in custody. Further investigation revealed his involvement in a previous theft under $5,000, for which he was also arrested. He was released later by police to appear in court at a later date.
DOMESTIC ASSAULT
Police responded to a disturbance at White Swan Trailer Court at 11:44 a.m., where a female victim reported being assaulted by a 30-year-old male. She also disclosed a prior incident where the same suspect had allegedly choked her. The suspect was arrested, held in custody, and subsequently released to appear in court at a later time.
BREACH OF NO-CONTACT ORDER
At 10:30 p.m., a female arrived at the Brandon Police Service station concerned about her boyfriend’s aggressive behaviour while in her vehicle. Police determined the 34-year-old male was breaching conditions prohibiting him from contacting the female. He was arrested, held in custody, and later released on an undertaking.
DOMESTIC DISTURBANCE
Police responded to a call at 3:39 a.m. about a disturbance at a home in the 300 block of Lorne Avenue. Upon arrival, officers arrested a 27-year-old male for assaulting a female and damaging property at the residence. The male was held in custody and will be released on an undertaking when sober.
