ARRESTED FOR METH POSSESSION

Brandon police arrested a man, 26, for meth possession on Tuesday afternoon after seeing him flee from a vehicle in the Christie Bay area, prior to initiating a traffic stop. The man was found and taken into custody on the basis of two warrants of arrest. A small quantity of meth was also found in his possession. He attended court on Wednesday morning.

MAN ARRESTED

Officers arrested a man, 38, on the 600 block of Percy Street for an outstanding arrest warrant related to a failure to attend court. He was held in detention until a court appearance on Wednesday morning.

ARRESTED FOR PUBLIC MISCHIEF

Brandon police officers responded to a disturbance report from a business on the 800 block of Pacific Avenue on Tuesday afternoon. On arriving at the scene, officers found an intoxicated woman, 22, who was not the subject of the disturbance report. The woman lied to officers on being questioned about her identity and once identified, officers found she had two outstanding warrants of arrest for a failure to attend court. She was additionally charged with public mischief and held for a court appearance the following morning.

Officers also located a man, 28, and woman, 33, who were identified as causing the disturbance reported earlier. Both denied having an altercation, but the woman was arrested for having unendorsed Winnipeg Police Service and Manitoba First Nations Police Warrants. The woman was also intoxicated and subjected to a medical exam and held in detention. However, while in detention, she required medical care at BRHC, following which she was released with court dates of March 4 in Morden, March 10 in Brandon and March 18 in Winnipeg.

2 ARRESTED FOR CAUSING DISTURBANCE

Officers made two separate arrests in unrelated cases on charges of breaching peace on Tuesday. In the first instance, they arrested a woman, 47, from the 700 block of Rosser Avenue on Tuesday afternoon for causing a disturbance and visiting a residence she is barred from. The woman was held in detention and released once sober. In the second instance, a man, 32, was arrested on Tuesday evening on the 1200 block of Rosser Avenue. The accused was reported to be acting violently and appeared to be high on crystal methamphetamine. Given his medical condition, officers took him to the Brandon Regional Health Centre, where he was cleared and transferred to a detention cell at the Brandon Police Service (BPS) headquarters and will be released once sober.

STOLEN VEHICLE FOUND

BPS located a vehicle reported stolen by the Boissevain detachment in August last year. It was found on Willowdale Crescent and seized. The RCMP has been notified and further investigations continue.

WOMAN ARRESTED

A woman, 36, was arrested by BPS officers on the 100 block of 9th Street, early on Wednesday morning, during a routine traffic stop. She had an outstanding arrest warrant issued by Wasagaming RCMP, and was temporarily held in detention and released with a court date of Feb. 6.

MAN ARRESTED FOR IMPAIRED DRIVING

Brandon police arrested a 30-year-old man, early on Wednesday morning, during a traffic stop on the 100 block of Rosser Avenue. On being pulled over, the man failed a sobriety test and was charged with impaired driving. He was held in detention and will be released once sober with a court date of Jan. 13.
