Warrant/Public Mischief

The Police arrested a 38-year-old woman on Saturday after conducting a pedestrian check in the 700 block of 9th Street. The woman initially provided a false identity. Further investigation revealed her true identity and the presence of an outstanding warrant. She was taken into custody and appeared in court on January 12, 2025.

Stolen Vehicles

• Nissan Rogue (Recovered)

Police arrested a 35-year-old male on Friday in the 200 block of Victoria Avenue East. The police patrolled the 600 block of 1st Street and observed a suspiciously operated Nissan Rogue. A records check confirmed it was stolen from Winnipeg. Two occupants abandoned the vehicle and fled on foot. He faces charges of possessing stolen property and breaching probation. The second suspect remains at large.

• Truck recovered

Early in the afternoon, a resident in the 300 block of Lorne Avenue East reported a truck parked in their backyard. The driver exited, discarded the keys, and fled. The truck was identified as stolen from outside Brandon and was towed for forensic examination. An investigation is ongoing.

• Toyota Camry

At approximately 4:25 p.m., a white 2009 Toyota Camry was reported stolen from outside a business in the 700 block of 4th Street. The vehicle had been left idling. Despite a swift police response, it was not immediately located. The investigation continues.

Intoxicated Person

The police detained a 36-year-old woman found to be severely intoxicated and had no one available to assist her on Saturday. On the evening of January 11, police were called to a business in the 1900 block of Richmond Avenue regarding an intoxicated individual. She was detained at BPS until sober.

Aggravated assault

On Sunday, police responded to a disturbance at a hotel in the 1100 block of 18th Street. Investigation revealed a 23-year-old man assaulted a woman, and a 20-year-old woman assaulted and robbed another individual. The victim sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to the hospital. All parties involved are known to each other. Both suspects were released with conditions to appear in court on March 24, 2025.

No-Contact Order Violation

Police arrested a 23-year-old man during a well-being check at the residence of a woman he was prohibited from contacting. He remains in custody and appeared in court on January 11, 2025.

Curfew and Substance Violation

Police arrested a 34-year-old man Friday evening for intoxication and disturbance at a residence in the 700 block of 10th Street. He was found in breach of curfew and alcohol abstinence conditions and had a small quantity of cocaine. He remains in custody and appeared in court on January 11, 2025.
