OTTER BAY RESIDENT REPORTS BREAK-IN

Brandon police received a report on Sunday from a resident of Otter Bay about an individual breaking into the property’s garage after entering a vehicle in the driveway and taking a pair of sunglasses and the garage’s remote control device. The suspect entered the garage, but did not steal anything else. Officers are asking anyone with information about the individual to call at 204-729-2345.

WOMAN ARRESTED FOR THEFT

On Sunday, BPS officers arrested a 35-year-old woman, accused of being involved in a theft, along with two other individuals, that took place at a business on the 900 block of 18th Street North on Nov. 7 last year. The woman was issued an undertaking with a court date set for Feb. 13. Investigations continue with regard to the other two accused in the robbery.

MAN ARRESTED FOR STEALING CAR

A 27-year-old man has been accused of stealing a car that was warming up outside a residence on the 700 block of Fourth Street on Friday afternoon. The accused fled with the stolen car, which was found abandoned near Minnedosa on Saturday. He used the owner’s credit card to make multiple purchases, including a jerry can used to purchase fuel, which the accused did not pay for prior to abandoning the vehicle. He later stole another vehicle on the same day. He was identified and arrested by police using surveillance video on Sunday. Officers found he had three outstanding prohibited driving orders, as well as a release order, which he violated on two separate occasions. He is currently lodged at the Brandon Correctional Centre on RCMP charges and attended court on Monday.
