WOMAN ARRESTED FOR ASSAULT

Brandon police arrested a woman, 18, on charges of assaulting another woman, 19, during an altercation early on Monday morning. The arrest was made after the victim presented herself to officers at an overnight drop-in and with a significant laceration to her forehead. She refused to reveal any information about how she was injured and was taken to Brandon Regional Health Centre. On investigating further, officers arrived at a building located on the 200 block of Ninth Street, where they found blood on the main floor by the elevator. Video surveillance showed the victim and the accused get inside the elevator together and an altercation breaking out during which the accused could be seen attacking the victim several times with a knife, held in her right hand. Upon arrest, the accused was found to be in violation of several probation orders. She was held in detention and attended court on Tuesday morning.
