Hey there, time traveller!

The City of Brandon said it will host a series of open houses and conduct online surveys this month, asking people for input about the future of Brandon Transit.
It expects that input gathered during this process will contribute to route planning and long-term strategy. This is the second round of engagement that city officials are presenting, according to a news release from the City of Brandon.
During the first round of community consultations that took place in the spring of 2024, “The project team learned about the mobility patterns and needs of Brandon residents,” the release stated.

The team then developed short-, medium- and long-term strategies, the release explained, that “will enhance the transit system, improve the rider experience and attract new transit users.”
Additionally, the city stated that the route planning and long-term strategy are not about mapping routes and patterns, but “envisioning a future where transit services are both inclusive and innovative.”
The in-person open-house events will be held during the first week of February. People can pick up paper surveys at all open houses, as well as on all transit buses. Surveys are also available at the Transit Information Centre at 21 Eighth St., and at Brandon City Hall at 410 Ninth St. from Feb. 3 to 23.
The online survey, which is now open, closes on Feb. 23 at 11:59 p.m. The survey is available here: https://rb.gy/f4vbx4.
Once the feedback has been collected, the project team will use the recommendations and transit service options to create and finalize its Route Planning and Long-term Strategy with key stakeholders. For more information about the transit study, call 204-729-2279.
