ARRESTED FOR DRUNKEN DISTURBANCE
A 28-year-old woman described by Brandon Police Service (BPS) as “highly intoxicated” was held in a detention cell to sober up on Monday night. BPS had been called to a late evening disturbance at a residence on Garwood Drive on Monday at about 11:50 p.m., and found the woman causing the disturbance. Police were unable to find a responsible and sober adult to turn her over to, so the woman was held overnight to be released once sober.
DRUNK WOMAN ARRESTED
A 45-year-old woman was arrested on an endorsed RCMP warrant early Tuesday morning following a disturbance on Ninth Street. Brandon police were called to the 200 block of Ninth Street early Tuesday by security, who reported that a highly intoxicated woman was going around the residence banging on doors.
Following the arrest, the accused was held in detention cells due to her intoxication level and as of Tuesday morning was expected to be released with an appearance notice. BPS said a court date will be determined by RCMP.
SEXUAL ASSAULT INVESTIGATION
Brandon police arrested an 18-year-old man on Monday and charged him with sexual assault and sexual interference, based on what BPS referred to as an “ongoing historic investigation.”
The accused, who was arrested while arriving at his residence, was interviewed by police and released on conditions to an alternative address with a court date set for April 7.
