Hey there, time traveller!

Today is the last day for residents to take in a series of open houses regarding the future of Brandon Transit, and a restructuring of the city’s bus route service.
Since Monday, the city has been hosting public engagements at various locations in the community, including Superstore, Brandon University, Walmart, Shoppers Mall and Assiniboine College. The last open house takes place this morning between 10 a.m. and noon at Shoppers Mall.
As part of ongoing efforts to ramp up public engagement, the city has also been inviting comment on an online survey this month, asking residents for their input on the subject. Comments gathered during this process will contribute to route planning and long-term strategy.
This is the second round of engagements by city officials, following the first round of community consultations that took place in the spring of 2024.
As part of the open-house events being held this week, city residents are invited to take part in sessions, or pick up paper surveys at all the open houses, as well as on all transit buses. Surveys are also available at the Transit Information Centre at 21 Eighth St., and at Brandon City Hall at 410 Ninth St. until Feb. 23.
Once the feedback has been collected, the project team will use the recommendations and transit service options to create and finalize its route planning and long-term strategy.
For more information about the transit study, call 204-729-2279. The online survey, which is now open, closes on Feb. 23 at 11:59 p.m. The survey is available here: https://rb.gy/f4vbx4.
