Want to know what’s open and what’s not on Louis Riel Day? Here’s a rundown of the holiday hours of some businesses and services in Brandon.

The Brandon Sun will not publish its regular e-edition on Monday, Feb. 17, but will resume publication on Tuesday, Feb. 18.

CITY OF BRANDON

• Brandon City Hall (410 Ninth St.), the A.R. McDiarmid Civic Complex and the Civic Services Complex (382 Park Ave. East) and the Parks Complex (2020 McGregor Ave.) are closed.

• The Eastview Landfill (765 33rd St. East) is closed. There will be no regular collection on Louis Riel Day. Please remember to have your carts out by 6 a.m. on your next collection day.

• The Brandon Community Sportsplex (30 Knowlton Dr.) will be open from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.

• The Brandon Youth Centre (638 Princess Ave.) will be closed.

• Brandon Transit: Buses will be running holiday hours from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. The Transit Information Centre (21 Eighth St.) will be closed.

• The Brandon Municipal Cemetery will be open to the public from dawn to dusk, but the cemetery office will be closed.

• After-hours and holiday public works emergencies can be reported to the City of Brandon Public Works by calling 204-729-2285.

• Non-emergency issues can be reported online at brandon.ca/report-an-issue. All submissions through this form will be documented and reviewed during regular business hours.

GROCERY STORES

• The Real Canadian Superstore (920 Victoria Ave.) will be open from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m.

• Sobeys Extra Brandon South (1645 18th St.) and Sobeys Brandon West (3409 Victoria Ave.) will be open from 7 a.m. to 11 p.m.

• The Co-op Marketplace (1035 Richmond Ave.) will be closed. Brandon’s Co-op gas bars will be open from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m.

• The Walmart Supercentre in the Corral Centre will be open from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m.

• The Corral Centre Safeway will be open on Louis Riel Day from 7 a.m. to 11 p.m.

LIQUOR

• The Brandon South, Victoria Avenue, Corral Centre and West End Express Liquor Marts will be open 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.

MEDICAL CLINICS

• The Newmount Medical Walk-In Clinic (6428 18th St.) will be closed.

PHARMACIES

As there are too many pharmacies to list, contact your pharmacy of choice for its hours of operation. Brandon’s Shoppers Drug Mart stores will open with the location at 139 Victoria Ave. East operating from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m., and the one in Shoppers Mall open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

OTHER THINGS TO DO

• Shoppers Mall will open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

• The Commonwealth Air Training Plan Museum is closed until Spring 2025.
