BRANDON UNIVERSITY

Brandon University is on winter study break this week, with no classes in most programs. The Healthy Living Centre remains open, and university offices are open standard hours to Friday. Regular classes resume on Feb. 24.

Canada West volleyball playoffs begin this weekend. The men’s playoffs are leading up to USPORTS national men’s volleyball championship, to be hosted by the Bobcats March 21-23 at BU’s Healthy Living Centre.

The School of Music is hosting a pair of festivals in coming weeks. Clarinetfest 2025 takes place on March 1-2, with performances and workshops. The BU Jazz Festival follows March 13-15, including showcase concerts on Thursday and Friday evenings at the Western Manitoba Centennial Auditorium. ASSINIBOINE COLLEGE

Black History Month is recognized every February. This is a time we can learn more about and celebrate the important stories, legacies and contributions that Black Canadians have made and continue to make in our communities, country and around the world. Assiniboine College ECE students are looking forward to hosting the annual Cardboard Challenge on Feb. 28 at the Victoria Avenue East campus! The Cardboard Box Challenge is an opportunity for early learning centres and members of the community to bring their children to the college and put their creativity, problem-solving and engineering skills to the test! Our goal is to provide cardboard boxes, tape, and open-ended materials to help the construction process. More details can be found at assiniboine.net/events.
