Arrested on warrants

Brandon Police Service officers executed several arrest warrants on Monday, including the arrest of a 20-year-old man who was in a taxi when it was pulled over.

Officers say they conducted a traffic stop in the 2100 block of Princess Avenue at 11:06 p.m. A 20-year-old man who was a passenger was the subject of an outstanding warrant for failing to comply with probation, said police. He was arrested, taken to BPS headquarters to have his fingerprints taken, and was released with a court appearance Tuesday.

Earlier on Monday, at 3:21 p.m., officers arrested a 26-year-old woman they said was wanted for failing to comply with probation. When police saw the woman near the corner of Pacific Avenue and 10th Street, they arrested her and took her to the police station for fingerprints. She was released with a future court date.

A 33-year-old woman who was the subject of an arrest warrant was seen by police in the 900 block of Victoria Avenue on Monday at 8:54 a.m. Officers say she was arrested for failing to comply with a release order and held in a BPS detention cell until a scheduled court appearance Tuesday morning.

Just after 8 a.m. on Monday, a 26-year-old woman surrendered to police knowing she was the subject of an arrest warrant, according to Brandon police. The woman arrived at BPS headquarters at 8:10 a.m., and was arrested for failing to attend court. Police said she was held in a detention cell overnight for a Tuesday morning court appearance.
