Hey there, time traveller!

Brandon residents may notice a new name and look at the longstanding health food store formerly known as Two Farm Kids.
The local business, which has been a staple in the community for more than 30 years, was acquired by the owners of A&L Cycle about a year ago and has now been rebranded as New Market Natural Foods and Kitchen.
The purchase was a family-driven initiative, president Cam Wirch told the Sun on Friday.

The decision to purchase Two Farm Kids aligned with A&L Cycle’s broader commitment to health and wellness.
“We think the future is in people trying to live healthier lifestyles,” Wirch said. “With an aging population, there’s a growing demand for natural products, vitamins, and supplements that promote longevity and overall well-being.”
While the core offerings of the store remain the same — providing high-quality natural foods, supplements, and vitamins — the business has introduced an expanded selection of kitchenware.
“We’ve added a whole bunch of kitchen products, like bowls and utensils, so people can have the tools they need to go with the food products we carry,” Wirch explained.
The store, now operating under the New Market Natural Foods and Kitchen banner, is located at 34th Street and Victoria Avenue, in the same mall as Chili Chutney. The rebranding initiative, which included new signage and marketing, officially launched last week.
The acquisition marks a significant departure from Wirch’s previous business ventures, which include Elevate Barbershop. However, he sees strong potential in the natural food industry and a growing customer base interested in healthy living. “A lot of our products are local — 87 per cent of what we carry is Canadian, with a strong focus on Manitoba-made goods like honey and other natural food items.”
Beyond rebranding, Wirch and his team have plans to expand the store’s offerings, though he remained tight-lipped on specifics. “We have some plans down the road that we can’t announce yet, but we’re working on introducing new products from our kitchen.”
The response from longtime customers has been positive, Wirch said, with many appreciating the expanded product selection. Meanwhile, the business is also making efforts to attract new customers, particularly younger demographics, through social media campaigns and an enhanced online shopping experience.
“We’re adding an online component so people who live in smaller towns can place orders and have them shipped quickly,” Wirch said.
The acquisition has not resulted in any staff reductions, as all employees from Two Farm Kids have been retained.
“We kept all the staff in place,” Wirch confirmed.
While the store remains in the same location, Wirch believes there is room for growth within the existing space.
“We felt there was potential to add more products and make better use of the space. Any time you take over a business, you bring fresh ideas and new ways to expand.”
With the transition to New Market Natural Foods and Kitchen now complete, Wirch and his team are focused on maintaining the trust of existing customers while attracting new ones.
“We’re excited to continue serving the community and to build on the foundation of a business that has been part of Brandon for over 30 years.”
