Police seize weapons from backpack
A 42-year-old man faces weapons-related charges after being stopped by Brandon police on Sunday morning.
Police say a man on an e-bike ran a stop sign in the 1200 block of 10th Street around 11:30 a.m. When police stopped him, it appeared he had a firearm sticking out of his backpack.
The man had a Daniel Defense MK 18 rifle BB gun, two cartridges of steel BB pellets, a folding knife, pepper spray and 8.75 grams of methamphetamine, police say, adding the man was under a court order not to possess weapons.
He was charged with possession of a dangerous weapon and carrying a concealed weapon, and was held at a BPS detention cell for an appearance in court Monday morning.

Woman charged with break and enter
A 19-year-old woman was arrested after allegedly trying to break into a residence on the 500 block of Seventh Street, just before 3 p.m. on Sunday.
When officers arrived, they said they were told that a woman was trying to pry open the door with some type of tool, and that she had left the scene, but could be located in the 700 block of Rosser Avenue.
The woman was charged with break and enter and possession of a dangerous weapon in connection with a fixed-blade knife police said they found. She was held in a BPS detention cell until her scheduled court appearance on Monday.
Police arrest intoxicated teen
Brandon police officers responded to a report of a disturbance at a residence on the 700 block of 14th Street at 10:14 p.m. Sunday.
Police say when officers arrived, they determined an intoxicated 14-year-old girl was the cause of the disturbance, adding she was under a court order not to consume alcohol. Police charged her with breaching a release order and consuming alcohol while underage. The teen was held in a BPS detention cell for a scheduled court appearance Monday.
Arrest warrant
A 33-year-old man was arrested on Sunday afternoon for allegedly breaching probation.
Police say they stopped a pedestrian in the 3800 block of Centennial Boulevard at 2:43 p.m. The man, who was the subject of an outstanding warrant for breach of probation, was taken into custody and held until a scheduled court appearance Monday.
Man breaks release orders
Brandon police arrested a 21-year-old man who they say was prohibited from being in the City of Brandon.
Just after midnight Monday morning, officers conducted a vehicle stop in the 100 block of Fifth Street and arrested an intoxicated man who was a passenger. He had been given a release order not to consume alcohol or attend the City of Brandon, police said.
The man was taken to a detention cell at BPS headquarters and held until a court appearance on Monday.
