BRANDON UNIVERSITY

Ayesha Saleem of the Children’s Hospital Research Institute of Manitoba will present an online talk for the Science Seminar Series on Friday, beginning at 2 p.m. Saleem will talk about the effects of prescribed exercise on generating mitochondria in cells.

The Bobcats host the nation’s best, as the U SPORTS national men’s volleyball championship takes place at the Healthy Living Centre from Friday to Sunday. Matches take place from noon until well into the evening on Friday, with the Bobcats taking on the No.1 ranked University of Winnipeg Wesmen at 6 p.m. The semifinals and consolation games will take place on Saturday, with the fifth-place match on Sunday at 1 p.m., followed by the bronze-medal match at 3 p.m. and the championship final at 6 p.m. All matches will be broadcast live on WCGtv and streamed on CBC Sports’ digital platforms.

The BU Orchestra and Chorale will perform a concert on Saturday at 7:30 p.m., at St. Matthew’s Anglican Cathedral. Tickets are available at the door and cost $15 for adults, $5 for ages 13 to 18, and free for 12-and-under as well as Brandon University and Conservatory of Music students.
