Hey there, time traveller!

Traffic resumed on Sixth Street Tuesday afternoon after CN Rail crews cleared debris and repaired infrastructure following a train derailment near the CN rail yard in Brandon on Monday.
The derailment occurred at approximately 5 p.m. near the rail yard, affecting 15 railcars, including one carrying fertilizer, three carrying potash and 11 empty railcars. No dangerous goods were involved and no injuries were reported.
The barriers at the Sixth Street crossing came down around noon Tuesday, allowing vehicles to pass through for the first time since the derailment the previous day. Despite this, crews remained on the site, working to reinforce the rail line just west of the crossing.

When contacted Tuesday, CN Rail media relations adviser Michelle Hannan did not disclose the cause of the incident but provided a statement.
“CN crews worked safely throughout the night to repair track infrastructure and re-rail the railcars impacted by yesterday’s derailment in Brandon. CN crews remain on site as cleanup activities are ongoing,” it read. “CN would like to apologize for any inconvenience caused by this incident and thanks local first responders for their assistance.”
On Monday evening, CN stated the cause is under investigation.
The Brandon Police Service also confirmed that CN had completed its cleanup operations at the Sixth Street crossing.
“CN Rail has completed their cleanup at the Sixth Street crossing,” BPS said in a statement. “The intersection is now open to the public. Thank you, Brandon, for your patience and co-operation during this extended street closure.”
