Brandon police caught up with six people in a span of 24 hours who were subjects of outstanding arrest warrants issued by Brandon Police Service and three other police agencies.
On Wednesday at 7 a.m., police were called to a residence on the 500 block of Percy Street about an argument between two sober 14-year-olds, a boy and a girl. Officers say there was a warrant for the boy’s arrest for failing to comply with probation. He was taken into custody to be held until his court appearance, while the girl took a taxi home.
At 9:50 a.m., police responded to a residence on the 200 block of Fourth Street. Officers were called on an unrelated matter, but when they arrived, they realized a 40-year-old man was known to them. He was the subject of an outstanding warrant for theft under $5,000. He was arrested and held in a BPS detention cell until his court appearance.
At 2 a.m. Thursday, officers saw a 32-year-old woman who was wanted for failing to attend court and failing to comply with probation. The woman was stopped while walking in the 1400 block of Victoria Avenue. She was released and given a notice to appear in court May 12.
Three other warrants were executed for other police agencies — Thompson RCMP, Winnipeg Police Service and Russell RCMP.
One was released and given a notice to appear in court, one was held in a BPS detention cell for a Thursday morning court appearance, and one warrant of arrest was served to a person who was in custody at Brandon Correctional Centre.
