BRANDON UNIVERSITY

Students are currently writing their final exams, which will wrap up on April 22. Meanwhile, the last year-end recitals for BU music students are taking place this week. For many senior students, these are their final steps to earning their degrees at Spring Convocation, which will take place on May 29 and 30. Spring session courses will begin on May 5.

Past and long-standing members of the Brandon Chamber Players will perform alongside BU students and faculty on Thursday at 7:30 p.m., at the Lorne Watson Recital Hall. The program will feature works commissioned by the Brandon Chamber Players by composers Alice Ping Yee Ho, T. Patrick Carrabré, Randolph Peters, Jocelyn Morlock and a new composition by Luis Ramirez. Tickets are $40 for general admission, or free for students with a valid ID card. More information is available at BrandonChamberPlayers.ca.

“CURVE!,” Brandon University’s exhibit in the FLASH Photographic Festival, is on display this month at the Curve Gallery in BU’s John E. Robbins Library. This is the first time in its 10-year history that FLASH Photographic Festival is expanding outside Winnipeg to become a province-wide, month-long celebration of Manitoba photography and lens-based art. Brandon University is highlighting 16 works by nine BU students and employees. Brought together, these works explore themes of energy, nature, grief and memory. The exhibit can be viewed at any time during library hours.
