A 20-year-old woman was killed when a car crossing the Trans-Canada Highway collided with a pickup truck near Virden on Friday.

The 74-year-old driver of the pickup truck, who was also the lone occupant, was transported to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Virden RCMP, with the assistance of an RCMP traffic analyst, continue to investigate.

EMPLOYEE REPORTS SUSPICIOUS MAN

A 26-year-old man was arrested for possessing stolen property after Brandon police responded to a call about a suspicious man Monday afternoon.

An employee of a business on the 700 block of 18th Street called police at 3:15 p.m., asking them to check on a suspicious man who was in the area.

Officers found the suspect and say he had stolen property on him. He was charged with possession of stolen property and later released with a court date of June 30.
