BRANDON UNIVERSITY

With final exams done for the academic year, attention at Brandon University is turning to spring convocation. Graduates from the faculties of science and education, as well as the School of Music will receive their degrees on May 29. Graduates from the faculties of health studies and arts will be recognized on May 30. Spring session classes are also approaching, with a start date of May 5.

“CURVE!,” Brandon University’s exhibit in the FLASH Photographic Festival, is on display this month at the Curve Gallery in BU’s John E. Robbins Library. This is the first time in its 10-year history that the FLASH Photographic Festival is expanding outside Winnipeg to become a province-wide, month-long celebration of Manitoba photography and lens-based art. Brandon University is highlighting 16 works by nine BU students and employees. Brought together, these works explore themes of energy, nature, grief and memory. The exhibit can be viewed at any time during library hours.

Also known as the National Day of Awareness for Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women and Girls, the day will also be marked by a number of BU staff and faculty hanging red dresses at their homes or offices, or by wearing red.

Registration is open for Mini U, featuring eight weeks of summer camps for youth from Kindergarten to Grade 8. Mini U will begin for the summer on June 30. For more information, including the registration guide, visit MiniU.BrandonU.ca.
