Assiniboine College partnered with WCGTV to provide election night coverage with a local viewpoint toward national decisions on Monday night.
The media and communications students and their guests provided regular updates as the voting results came in.
Their panel of experts offered commentary and predictions, helping make sense of the outcome for Brandon, Westman and the country, the college said in a news release on Monday.
“Reporters in the field will be travelling around Brandon and the area gathering reactions from people throughout the community,” the release said. “The students are taking full advantage of the facilities in the Centre for Creative Media at Assiniboine College.”
The centre, which opened in 2021, is a 9,000-square-foot facility housing cutting-edge technology, training graduates for rapidly changing, technology-driven careers. The media students broadcast from state-of-the-art facilities and studios.
