BRANDON UNIVERSITY
Friday’s BU Teachings House event will be a celebration of Indigenous student achievement. Brandon University student and research assistant Stephanie Spence, who will graduate with a bachelor of psychiatric nursing this month, will reflect on her journey at BU and look ahead to the future. The event will take place from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m., at the Ceremony Room in the Health Studies complex, and everyone is welcome.
The first concert of the 2025 Clear Lake Chamber Music Festival takes place in Brandon on May 21. Alexander Tselyakov, on piano, celebrates 150 years of Maurice Ravel, with a varied program of the great French composer’s masterpieces. The concert begins at 7:30 p.m. at the Lorne Watson Recital Hall. Tickets are $30 in advance, or $35 at the door for general admission. Our Journey, a celebration recognizing First Nation, Métis and Inuit student achievement in education, is coming up on May 23 at the Riverbank Discovery Centre. Brandon University and Assiniboine College graduates will be among those honoured through ceremony and tradition. There will be a BBQ during the day and feast in the evening for friends and family, as well as entertainment and an opportunity to share in one another’s accomplishments. Please bring your own chair.
Registration is open for Mini U, featuring eight weeks of summer camps for youth from Kindergarten to Grade 8. Mini U will begin for the summer on June 30. For more information, including the registration guide, visit MiniU.BrandonU.ca.
