A Wheatland man faces numerous charges after RCMP searched a property in the community and found more than $45,000 worth of stolen property.
RCMP officers from Carberry, Souris and Brandon carried out the investigation and obtained a search warrant for the property, about 47 kilometres northwest of Brandon, RCMP said in a news release on Monday.
Brandon RCMP were tipped off about the stolen property on May 7, the release said.
The recovered property included John Deere equipment and an enclosed trailer, which RCMP believe was stolen from Steinbach.
Officers were on the property when a suspect drove by, RCMP said.
They conducted a traffic stop and arrested the suspect.
Christopher Bell, 42, was charged with three counts of possessing property obtained by crime over $5,000, four counts of possessing weapons contrary to a previous order he had been given, and two counts of possessing a weapon for dangerous purpose.
Bell was released and given a court date of May 26.
The investigation continues.
