A time capsule that has been buried for almost 25 years outside Brandon City Hall will be unearthed Friday morning.

On Dec. 7, 2000, when former city councillor Marie Kotyk, along with members of the UCT Millennium Committee, placed the container in the garden area in front of city hall.

The committee was struck in 1999 to help plan a homecoming event in 2000 to celebrate the millennium.

Current and past members of the UCT committee will be at the burial site to open the time capsule at 10 a.m. on Friday
