Woman assaulted in hotel
Brandon Police Service arrested a man for assault after he allegedly hit a woman on Monday.
Police responded to a report of a man and woman arguing at a hotel on Middleton Avenue at around 9 p.m.

A man had struck a woman in the eye, which resulted in visible swelling, police said in a news release.
Emergency medical services assessed the woman and police arrested and held the man in a detention cell.
He was to appear in court on Tuesday morning.
Attempted stabbing, public mischief
A woman was arrested on Monday after she allegedly tried to stab her ex-boyfriend.
Brandon Police Service received a report of a woman waving a knife around at around 5 p.m.
The woman allegedly tried to stab her ex-boyfriend, damaged a television and smashed the windshield of his car, police said in a news release.
When police got to the scene, the woman gave them false identification, the release said.
The woman was arrested and charged with assault with a weapon, mischief under $5,000 and public mischief.
She was held in a detention cell to appear in court on Tuesday morning.
