THREE TIMES OVER THE LIMIT

A Brandon woman involved in a motor vehicle accident in May has been charged with impaired driving after police obtained results of her blood that allegedly showed she was more than three times over the legal limit.

Following the May 27 accident, police issued a production order to get the results of the woman’s blood while she had been treated for her injuries, Brandon police said in a news release Wednesday.

Police said the records showed a blood-alcohol level of 0.242 — more than three times the legal limit of 0.08.

Officers arrested a 25-year-old woman Tuesday morning at a residence on the 1500 block of Stickney Avenue.

She was released with a court date of July 21.

ASSAULT WITH A PAINT CAN

Brandon police arrested a man after receiving a call about an assault on Tuesday night.

Police were called to the 400 block of 12th Street at around 11:30 p.m.

A “highly intoxicated and belligerent man” threw a paint can at an 18-year-old woman’s leg, police said in a news release.

Police arrested a 25-year-old man and held him in a detention cell to be released Wednesday morning.

The man faces a charge of assault with a weapon and is scheduled to appear in court on Sept. 25.

CAUGHT ON CAMERA STABBING TIRE

Police arrested a woman after surveillance footage in front of a Brandon business showed a person stabbing a vehicle’s tire on Monday.

Footage from the front of a business on the 800 block of Pacific Avenue showed a woman walk up to a vehicle in the parking lot at around 9 p.m., police said in a news release.

“She appeared to make a stabbing motion four to five times toward the tire, which was later found to be completely flat,” the release said.

Brandon police arrested and charged a 31-year-old woman with mischief under $5,000.

She is scheduled to appear in court on Sept. 2.
