Man allegedly uses taser
Brandon police arrested a man who allegedly used a taser to assault someone on Thursday.
The suspect fled the scene before police arrived.
The next day, they found and arrested a 39-year-old man, police said in a news release.
The man allegedly had methamphetamine on him at the time of the arrest, police said.
The man was remanded into custody and charged with possession of a restricted weapon while prohibited, assault with a weapon, unauthorized possession of a restricted weapon and possession of a weapon knowing it’s unauthorized.
He was also charged with failing to comply with probation and possession of a scheduled substance for the purpose of trafficking.

Vehicles stolen after break-in
Brandon police are on the lookout for a stolen vehicle after a downtown business was broken into and several items were stolen on Saturday.
Police received a report of a break and enter into a business on the 500 block of Rosser Avenue.
Police said in a news release that it’s believed the door was left insecure, which allowed the suspect(s) to enter.
Two laptops were stolen as well as two vehicles, since the keys were kept inside the business, the release said.
Police said one vehicle was found parked in the 1300 block of Seventh Street, and they were still looking for a blue 2015 GMC Terrain with a Manitoba licence plate that reads MOKSH.
Accused of assaulting each other
Brandon Police Service arrested a couple after they allegedly assaulted each other on Sunday evening.
Police received a report of a disturbance in the 600 block of 23rd Street and went to the residence at around 7 p.m.
Police determined that two people had assaulted each other and arrested a 31-year-old man and a 26-year-old woman, police said in a news release.
Both were charged with assault and released on undertakings to appear in court in October.
Man faces assault charge
Brandon police arrested a man after receiving a report that a woman’s boyfriend assaulted her on Sunday evening.
Police received the report at around 11 p.m., and their investigation led to a 19-year-old man’s arrest, police said in a news release.
The man was held at Brandon Police Service headquarters to appear in court on Monday morning. He was charged with assault and assault by choking.
