Another downtown safety strategy meeting is planned for later this month, as Brandon police continue to look for input on the city’s central neighbourhood.

Police are hosting a meeting on Aug. 25, and have “selected” certain residents to participate, according to Janet Reichert, recruitment and communications specialist for the Brandon Police Service.

“This meeting will focus on reviewing the data and concerns raised in previous discussions,” Reichert said in an email to the Sun. “The team will work to define roles and responsibilities to move forward with addressing identified issues and implementing necessary corrective actions.”

Reichert wouldn’t say where the meeting is being held or what time of day it is happening, but did say it is closed to the general public.

In July, BPS Chief Tyler Bates said the consultation stage of meeting with people and organizations is complete and they are now looking for feedback from the consultations.

The last meeting in July drew about a dozen downtown residents, with media excluded from the event.
