PISTOLS FOUND IN VEHICLE

Four men were arrested after Brandon police found two loaded pistols in a vehicle on Thursday morning during a traffic stop on 18th Street.

The driver, a 23-year-old man from Calgary, was found to have no valid driver’s licence and was wanted for arrest by Calgary and Regina police, Brandon Police Service said in a news release Friday.

The traffic stop took place at around 4:30 a.m. Also arrested were a 19-year-old man from out of province and two Winnipeg men, ages 18 and 23.

The men from out of province were held in custody pending a court appearance, while the men from Winnipeg were released on an undertaking with court dates in November.

All four are facing numerous firearms charges. The vehicle was towed.

BANNED WOMAN ARRESTED

A woman was arrested on Thursday for allegedly stealing from a Brandon business that she was banned from.

Police received a report from a business in the 900 block of Victoria Avenue at 1:45 p.m. that a woman had stolen clothing and flowers before fleeing.

Officers located the suspect nearby. Police say the woman was bound by a probation order banning her from the store.

She was charged with theft under $5,000 and released with a court date in November.
