Two men are facing charges after objects were thrown at the Dauphin RCMP detachment in separate incidents.
A person threw a large rock through a front window, “narrowly missing visitors and employees,” at about 12:15 p.m. Friday, police said in a news release Monday.
Police chased a suspect running from the scene and tried to stop a man on First Avenue Northeast. He allegedly raised a collapsible baton, so an officer fired a Taser at him. It failed to stop the man, who fled on foot.

The man struck the officer with the baton when they met up again on Fourth Avenue Southeast, the release said. The officer arrested the man after a brief struggle. The officer was not injured, police said.
Jason Chartrand, 39, faces two counts each of assaulting a police officer with a weapon and resisting a peace officer, and single counts each of mischief over $5,000, carrying a concealed weapon and possessing a weapon for a dangerous purpose.
Chartrand was remanded into custody.
On Sunday, at 2:45 a.m., someone in Dauphin called 911 and hung up before calling again. The caller said he was going to the detachment to discuss something with officers.
Shortly after the second call, RCMP officers saw a minivan drive into the detachment parking lot and then onto the curb outside the front door.
A man got out of the vehicle and threw a beer bottle at the building before being arrested, the release said.
Tristan Hrominchuk, 21, has been charged with two impaired driving offences. He was released from custody and will appear in court on a later date.
