The Assiniboine Alumni Association has announced three individuals as the recipients of its 2025 alumni awards.
The trio’s achievements reflect leadership, innovation and community impact, Assiniboine College said in a news release Friday.
The recipients are Madison Wright (the One to Watch Award), Graham Street (the Excellence in Education Award) and HyLife Foods co-founder Denis Vielfaure (the Distinguished Alumni Award).

Wright, a graduate of both the early childhood education and early childhood program management programs, discovered her passion for working with children at an early age, the release said. That led her to Assiniboine College and eventually to a leadership role as director of the Y Valleyview Child Care Centre in Brandon.
“Receiving this award is something I never expected,” Wright said. “It’s a reminder of why I do what I do and motivates me to keep growing, learning and making a difference in the early childhood education field.”
Street’s career spans decades in television production, including roles at CKX, A-Channel, and Pyramid Productions. His filmography includes directing and producing documentaries and television programs across Canada and the U.K. In 2008, Street returned to Assiniboine, where he is an instructor in the media and communications program.
Street, a 1995 graduate of the media production program, said he loves teaching.
“I knew from the moment I filled in for three weeks at the college at age 19 that it was what I wanted to do,” he said.

Vielfaure and his brothers rebuilt their farming operation, eventually becoming founding partners in HyLife Foods, now one of Manitoba’s largest agri-food companies with more than 1,500 employees in the province, the college said.
“What began under challenging circumstances became the motivation for a lifetime of success,” said Vielfaure, who graduated from Assiniboine’s farm machinery mechanics program in 1980.
The awards will be celebrated at the Assiniboine Foundation Advancement Dinner on Oct. 23 at The Backyard on Aberdeen.
