Inventronics marked a milestone on Friday as staff gathered to celebrate product designer Jack Stuart’s 50 years with the Brandon-based manufacturer.
Stuart joined the company — which makes metal enclosure products used in communications, electronics and other industries — on Sept. 12, 1975 when operations were confined to a single building.
He started in the steel department, running brakes and punch presses, before steadily working up to the role of a product designer, he told the Sun on Friday.

“I was just looking for a job back then,” he said. “Over the years, I’ve worked my way through different departments, learned on the floor, taught myself design and eventually moved into engineering.
“It’s been a long road, but also a short one when I look back.”
His 50 years have taken him beyond Brandon. From 1982 to 1992, Stuart ran Inventronics’ plant in Moose Jaw before returning to Brandon, where he has remained ever since. Asked if he ever considered leaving the company, Stuart was quick to respond: “Not really. People have always treated me well, and that makes a big difference.”
On Friday, the company paused operations at its Van Horne Avenue East facility for half an hour to recognize Stuart’s achievement.
Stuart described the event as unforgettable.
“This day has been the best. Everyone came together to celebrate, and it’s something I’ll never forget.”
For Stuart, the lessons learned during his five decades with the company go beyond technical expertise.
“I’ve learned to treat people the way you want to be treated. That’s important in any workplace,” he said.
Stuart’s dedication and skill is worthy of emulation, the company’s vice-president of sales and marketing, Dan O’Greysik, told the Sun on Friday.
“Jack has been supporting our business for decades. He’s so good at what he does — detailed, thorough and able to work directly with our customers to meet expectations. It’s been fabulous working with him,” O’Greysik said.
O’Greysik, who has worked alongside Stuart for 20 of his own 29 years at Inventronics, said the celebration sends a strong message to the company’s workforce.
“This is our first 50-year employee, and it shows the kind of community we have here. It sets an example for younger staff and reinforces the culture of loyalty and commitment.”
Despite the fanfare, Stuart has no immediate plans to retire.
“I won’t be here another 50 years,” he joked, “but maybe a year or two more. We’ll see how things go.”
