The Brandon University Students’ Union will host its Food Truck Festival today from 10 a.m to 3 p.m. Some of the amazing flavours of Brandon will be available in four local food trucks, set up in Parking Lot 2, in front of the university. All are welcome.

Visting experts in conflict studies from New Caledonia and Japan will join scholars from BU discuss how inclusive governance can build lasting peace at a Faculty of Arts Speaker Series event on Wednesday. They will share how places such as the Philippines, New Caledonia, Bosnia and Herzegovina and Lebanon have confronted the challenges of building peace. The session is open to the public and will take place at the John E. Robbins Library, beginning at 5 p.m.

After visiting the Assiniboine College Cougars on Wednesday, the Bobcats will host Canadian Mennonite University on Sunday at the Healthy Living Centre. Wednesday’s matches start at 6 p.m. for women and 8:15 for men at Cougars Field; Sunday’s contests at the HLC begin at 1 p.m. for women and 3:15 for men.

Brandon University and downtown Brandon will host Prairie Wires Modular festival of electronic sound on Friday and Saturday. Canada’s only multi-venue festival focused on the art and music of the modular synthesizer will feature electronic musicians from classical to punk, and everything in between. Performances begin at 11:30 a.m., on Friday, with pop-up performances around the BU campus, followed by the opening night concert at the BU School of Music at 7 p.m. Saturday will feature performances at Chez Angela and the Art Gallery of Southwestern Manitoba, followed by the finale concert at BU at 6:30 p.m. All are welcome to these free performances.

The Men’s Resource Centre is once again hosting Shop Talk. Shop Talk is for male identifying students from LECTT and MICA North Hill campus to join representatives from the Men’s Resource Centre every second Tuesday, from 5 to 7 p.m. to connect, learn and work towards men’s wellness initiatives.
