ASSAULTED IN BED
Brandon Police Service arrested a man early Thursday morning after a woman said she was assaulted while in bed.
Police responded to the reported assault at around 11:25 p.m. Wednesday at a residence on the 300 block of 17th Street.

The woman told police she was in bed when a man that she knew came into her room and started yelling at her to leave before hitting her in the head several times, BPS said in a news release Thursday.
The woman escaped to the backyard and called 911, police said.
The man fled before police got to the residence, but just over an hour later, they were notified that he had returned and was banging on the door.
Officers went back and arrested a 63-year-old man, who was on an undertaking that included a condition not to attend that residence.
The man was charged with assault and failure to comply with an undertaking. He was held in BPS detention cells and was scheduled to appear in court Thursday.
IMITATION GUN
Brandon Police Service arrested a man Wednesday after he allegedly had an imitation handgun in his pocket.
BPS was called to a disturbance outside of a business in the first block of 10th Street at around 4:30 p.m.
When officers got to the business, they found a man inside with an imitation handgun sticking out of his back pocket, BPS said in a news release Thursday.
Officers arrested the man, and he was held at the police station. He was scheduled to appear in court Thursday.
‘GROSS IMPAIRMENT’
Souris RCMP arrested a man near Brandon on Tuesday who was allegedly driving at three times the legal limit.
The driver was reported travelling on Highway 10, roughly five kilometres south of Brandon near Zavislak Road, at around 7 p.m.
While officers were on their way, they received an update that the man was stumbling on the side of the highway, RCMP said in a news release Wednesday.
Officers found the truck, which was stuck, with the man sitting on the tailgate.
The man showed signs of “gross impairment,” the release said.
Officers arrested the Souris- Glenwood man and brought him back to the detachment, where he provided breath samples reading three times the legal limit, police said.
He was charged with operation of a motor vehicle while impaired and released with a scheduled court date.
Manitoba RCMP reminded the public to call 911 if they suspect an impaired driver.
