COCAINE SEIZED IN TRAFFIC STOP
Brandon Police Service arrested a woman early Friday morning after a traffic stop turned up cocaine and drug paraphernalia.
Officers stopped a vehicle in the 1000 block of Sixth Street just after 2 a.m.

When the backseat passengers identified themselves, officers found that a 21-year-old man was on a release order with a condition not to be in contact with one of the other passengers, a 34-year-old woman, BPS said in a news release Friday.
A can of Mike’s Hard was visible, which led an officer to search the woman and her purse, BPS told the Sun in an email. They found 12.5 grams of cocaine, unused packaging material, a scale, a cellphone and $30 in cash, police said.
They also found a bottle of Bacardi Breezer, which was roughly 80 per cent full, under the passenger seat, BPS said in an email, adding that the driver blew zero in a breath test.
Police arrested the woman and charged her with possession of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking. She was also issued a ticket for unlawful transportation of liquor in a motor vehicle.
She was released on an undertaking and is scheduled to appear in court in December.
HOTEL HIT AND RUN
Brandon Police Service is investigating a hit-and-run that caused damage to a hotel on Thursday.
Police were called at around 9:45 a.m. after a vehicle rammed into the side of a hotel on the 3500 block of Victoria Avenue and drove away, BPS said in a news release Friday.
The caller reported that an elderly woman was driving what they believed to be a silver Kia Sportage, police said.
BPS is asking that anyone with information about the collision call its non-emergency line at 204-729-2345.
GARAGE BREAK-IN
Brandon Police Service is investigating a garage break-in from Thursday evening.
Between roughly 7:20 p.m. and 10:20 p.m., a detached garage on the 400 block of Second Street was broken into, BPS said in a news release.
Police said several boxes of personal belongings were “rummaged” through, and the resident later noticed items were missing.
BPS is asking anyone with information about the break-in to call the non-emergency line at 204-729-2345.
