On a cloud-covered morning in Riding Mountain National Park, about 165 runners braved slippery conditions on Saturday morning to participate in the Epic East Gate trail run.

Beginning at the park’s historic East Gate about 15 minutes from the town of McCreary, Man., runners took part in 50 km, 25 km or 19 km categories.

Each trail had unique and interesting views along the path. For example, the 10 km route runs along lower Reeves Ravine, and the 25 and 50 km runs allowed great views of Riding Mountain’s Little Bald Hill.
