Brandon police responded to “an unverified threat” at Vincent Massey High School on Friday.
The school was placed under a hold and secure and students were sent home early.
Police responded at approximately 11 a.m. to a report of an unverified email threat, according to Brandon School Division communications.

By 1 p.m., most students had left the school grounds and police said no immediate risk was identified.
A tipster told the Sun the unverified threat was related to a bomb, and three separate students on scene at Vincent Massey indicated the same. Brandon Police Service declined to confirm or deny the claim when asked.
Parents were asked to pick up their children from the west side of the building, where officers stood guard at the entrance to the school.
The school was closed as a precaution for the remainder of the day.
Police said the situation remains under active investigation.
