A 15-year-old boy who allegedly pointed an airsoft gun toward a student at a school in Ebb and Flow First Nation was arrested on Tuesday.

Ste. Rose du Lac RCMP were sent to the school at around 11 a.m. after a faculty member reported that a boy, who was not a student at the school, pointed a firearm at a student before leaving the school grounds, RCMP said in a news release Wednesday.

While no one was injured, the school went into lockdown as a precaution.

Officers were directed to a residence where it was believed the suspect came from. The homeowner told police the suspect did go to the school and returned, but had since left again, the release said.

Police seized an airsoft gun believed to be used in the incident.

Shortly after, the youth went to the Ste. Rose du Lac RCMP detachment and was remanded into custody.

The boy was charged with pointing a firearm, uttering threats against a person, uttering threats to property and two counts of possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose.

He will appear in court at a later date.
