Scottish singer-songwriter Michael McGovern played to a small crowd of folk music lovers on Tuesday night, marking the second concert in the Home Routes concert series at Brandon’s Park Community Centre.
About 25 concertgoers came out to McGovern’s solo guitar performance, and the intimate setting allowed for some friendly banter between the artist and the audience as the evening progressed.
Home Routes made its return to the Wheat City this fall after a seven-year absence. Canadian folk artist Scott Nolan performed at the Park Community Centre for the opening of the Home Routes season last month.

Hailing from the Scottish city of Glasgow, McGovern’s debut album, “Highfield Suite,” was released in June 2021 to critical acclaim in both the U.K. and Ireland, being named BBC Radio Scotland album of the Week.
The next Home Routes concert date will be announced later this year.
