Three teens have been charged in connection with an assault that left a 53-year-old man in critical condition in Wuskwi Sipihk First Nation earlier this month.
Swan River RCMP were notified of a possible assault on a property in Wuskwi Sipihk First Nation at around 2 a.m. on Oct. 2.
Officers responded and found the victim seriously injured on a roadway, RCMP said in a news release.

Police drove the man to the local hospital before he was transported to Winnipeg, where he remained in critical condition as of Oct. 8, the release said.
Manitoba RCMP Major Crime Services took over the investigation on Oct. 6.
The day after the assault, a 16-year-old Dauphin boy surrendered at the Swan River RCMP detachment, where he was arrested for aggravated assault and subsequently released on an undertaking. He will appear in Swan River provincial court at a later date, the release said.
On Oct. 9, RCMP officers from Swan River and Major Crime Services arrested a 14-year-old boy and an 18-year-old man, Zakari Kematch. Both teens, from Swan River, were charged with aggravated assault and remanded into custody.
Swan River RCMP continues to investigate.
