ASSAULT WITH A PIZZA
A man was arrested after he allegedly spat and threw a pizza at his partner’s face early Thursday morning.
Brandon Police Service received a report of an assault at a residence on Westaway Bay at around 2:20 a.m.
The 34-year-old woman told police her intoxicated common-law spouse spit on her, threw a pizza in her face and yelled at her, BPS said in a news release Thursday.
The 32-year-old man was arrested and charged with assault and assault with a weapon. Officers brought him to BPS, where he was held until his scheduled court appearance on Thursday.
FALSE NAME LEADS TO ARREST
A 42-year-old man was arrested on Wednesday after he allegedly refused to leave a store he was on a condition not to enter.
Brandon Police Service was sent to a business on the 900 block of Victoria Avenue at around 4:30 p.m. after an employee reported that a group of people were outside the store, refusing to leave and soliciting money from pedestrians, BPS said in a news release Thursday.
When police arrived, one man gave the officers a false name, but police were able to correctly identify him, the release said.
Police found that the man was bound by conditions to not attend that store. While arresting him, officers found a knife in his waistband, police said. He was also on a condition not to possess weapons.
Officers transported the man to BPS, and he was held in custody until his scheduled court appearance on Thursday.
The man now faces charges of possessing a weapon, carrying a concealed weapon, resisting arrest, obstructing justice and two counts of failing to comply with probation.
