FORCIBLE CONFINEMENT
Brandon Police Service arrested a man on Thursday after he allegedly assaulted a woman and wouldn’t let her leave the residence.
BPS received a report of a possible assault at a residence on the 1200 block of 10th Street and responded at around 11:30 a.m.
When officers got to the residence, there was no answer at the door and they saw a man “barricading” the entrance inside, BPS said in a news release Friday.
Police executed a forced entry and found a 37-year-old woman with minor injuries and sore ribs after the man assaulted her, BPS said.
Officers arrested a 41-year-old man at the scene and transported him to BPS detention cells, where he remained until his scheduled court appearance on Friday.
He was charged with assault, forcible confinement and two counts of breaching a release order.
