A 25-year-old Roblin man was pronounced dead after a utility terrain vehicle rollover in Riding Mountain West on Saturday.

Russell RCMP were sent to a UTV rollover on Highway 83 and Road 135 North at around 4:30 p.m.

When officers arrived, emergency medical services were doing CPR to a man on the ground, but he was pronounced dead at the scene, RCMP said in a news release on Monday.

RCMP said the driver, who was the vehicle’s only occupant, was travelling north in the west ditch off Highway 83 when he lost control and the UTV rolled, the release said.

Mounties said they believe speed was a factor in the incident, and the driver wasn’t wearing a helmet or using a seatbelt.

Russell RCMP continues to investigate.
