Shoal Lake RCMP is asking for the public’s assistance in identifying and locating two suspects who allegedly broke into a fire hall in Strathclair and stole a truck, trailer and UTV last week.

Shoal Lake RCMP were advised that the Strathclair fire hall had been broken into and “significant damage” was caused inside on Oct. 22, RCMP said in a news release on Tuesday.

After investigating, Mounties said they determined the suspects fled west on Highway 16.

Police later found the abandoned trailer hauling the UTV on the side of the road less than a mile from Russell, the release said.

RCMP said the stolen truck was also recovered from a parking lot in Russell.

Shoal Lake and Russell RCMP released images of the male and female suspects, who were last seen driving a white motorhome with a decal on the top. Mounties said they believe they could have continued travelling west toward Saskatchewan.

RCMP is asking anyone with information about the two suspects to call the Shoal Lake detachment at 204-759-2390, 911 or Crime Stoppers anonymously at 1-800-222-8477. An anonymous tip can also be submitted at www.manitobacrimestoppers.com.

Russell and Shoal Lake RCMP continue to investigate.
