The City of Brandon is hosting a Christmas open house this Sunday at city hall.

The “cherished tradition” will include a festive concert by the Brandon Community Orchestra and a “delightful mix of holiday favourites and classical selections” from Brandon University’s Suzuki Strings program, the city said in a notice on its website.

People are also invited to speak with the mayor and councillors at the event, Mayor Jeff Fawcett said at Monday evening’s council meeting.

The concert starts at 1:30 p.m. and doors open at 12:30 p.m. Seating is limited, and it will be “first come, first served,” the city said.

Refreshments will be served before the concert starts.

“Everybody’s welcome to come out — it’s always quite a nice little event that gets put on,” Fawcett said on Monday.
