A fire at Full Tilt Towing & Transport tore through the business’s storage and equipment shop on 49th St. East early Saturday morning.

The fire “burned down” the building, but left no one injured, according to the company’s press release, which was issued on Saturday afternoon.

“Early this morning our storage and equipment shop caught fire and burned down,” the release stated. “Luckily, no personnel were injured, and all our staff is safe! The loss of the trucks can easily be overcome; however, we apologize in advance for any delay in services that may come from this as we rebuild.”

Full Tilt stated its office operations and general towing services will continue as normal. The company also expressed gratitude to first responders and members of the public who checked in following the fire, offering special thanks to Brandon Fire & Emergency Services for their quick response and efforts at the scene.

Fire crews were called to the fire at about 7 a.m. Saturday at the property on 49th Street East, Brandon Fire Chief Terry Parlow told the Sun around 4 pm.

Firefighters arrived after 7 a.m. and found the blaze already well involved, he said.

“Everything is under control now,” Parlow said. “Crews are still on scene making sure all remaining hot spots are put out and ensuring there is no extension to anything else.”

Parlow said it is still too early to confirm the full extent of the damage to the building.

“Our crews and investigators have been working with the property owner to remove parts of the structure so we can safely access certain areas and determine the area of origin,” he said. “There were no casualties … nobody was injured, and crews remained on scene Saturday working to ensure the fire does not spread to nearby areas.”

Parlow said the cause of the fire remains under investigation and that details will not be released until the fire investigator completes the examination and reports back.

At this stage, officials have not confirmed the full extent of the damage to the structure, though Parlow said significant work has been required to access the affected areas safely.
