Mounties arrested a Brandon man on Monday in connection with a stolen off-road vehicle.
As part of an ongoing investigation into a stolen side-by-side, RCMP members executed a search warrant at a property in the Rural Municipality of Harrison Park on Monday at around 9:30 a.m.
RCMP members followed a recently plowed trail that led to a wooded area behind the home and found the side-by-side, which had been reported stolen from a business in the RM of Oakville on Jan. 11, RCMP said in a news release.
Nobody appeared to be home when members searched the property, police said.
At 11 a.m. that same day, officers went to another property the suspect owned.
A woman at the residence told members the suspect was not there, but Mounties noticed foot tracks leading into a shed at the back of the property, the release said.
A police service dog was deployed after members called out to the suspect multiple times and received no response.
Mounties said they saw the man trying to go into the shed and told him he was under arrest.
Dean Purdy, 41, was charged with possessing property obtained by crime over $5,000 and three counts of breaching court orders.
