Brandon’s Her Seat at the Table organization is hosting a second event next month aimed at encouraging women to run for political office.
A panel discussion is set to run on March 3 from 5 to 7 p.m. in the Lorne Watson Music Hall at Brandon University, HSATT said in an undated news release posted to its website.
The event will feature experts who “will lead an educational and eye-opening conversation,” the release said.

The discussion itself is scheduled to start at 5:30 p.m., with opportunities to network beforehand. Light refreshments will also be served.
“The event will feature an interactive conversation, led by a skilled facilitator who will guide the discussion and lead a Q-and-A session,” the release said.
It also said that children are welcome to attend, with age-appropriate activity packages available.
The panel discussion follows the organization’s first event in early December, which drew many city council members to talk about their experiences.
Currently, only one of Brandon council’s 11 seats is held by a woman, and only one woman has ever served as mayor.
The next municipal election is Oct. 28.
